I wrote, produced, arranged and recorded this record more than four years ago and it just recently surfaced on the web as a "new" song. More interesting is the fact that I walked into Duane Read on Broadway two nights ago and a girl in line stopped me excitedly to say, "Ryan, I'm listening to you right now". She handed me her left headphone and there it was blasting: "When I think about love, you're the one I want..."
I'm a true Ryan Leslie fan. He understands the power of the digital world, and it is great to see a certified artist use it to their advantage in the inevitably changing and damaged music industry. All the youtube videos, Twitter promotions, and his transparent approach to his personal website should be sold as a manual in 'building a buzz for dummies... err artists'. He's consistent, dedicated, and produces great music- all for the world to partake in not only the finished product, but the creation process as well. Which gives the audience a fishbowl sense of fanaticism to fully engage with their beloved artist. Harvard grad, producer, singer, songwriter, musician: The ever so talented Ryan Leslie.
